We aim to give emerging comic book creators a clear path into the industry. We believe mentorship, community, and promotion — not monetary prizes — is the true way to grow within this wild industry we love so much. Our winners receive mentorship from industry professionals including editors, agents, writers, and artists, helping creators learn from every side of the industry and best understand their next career moves.

Nahuel Fanjul-Arguijo — President & Co-Founder

Nahuel F.A. [nahuel@negativespacecomics.com] is an Argentinian writer, marketing professional at AWA Studios, and President of Negative Space Comics — where he showcases his passion for discovering emerging comics creators and matching them with professional mentorship. He has edited and published three anthologies through Negative Space Comics. He is also the co-writer of a YA graphic novel with Mad Cave Studios’ Maverick imprint.

Alex Dvorak — Creative Director & Co-Founder

Alex Dvorak [alex@negativespacecomics.com] is a multicultural (Latina & Czech) graphic novelist, screenwriter, and journalist published in The Washington Post, HuffPost, POPSUGAR and more. She is the author of an original YA graphic novel with Mad Cave Studios, set to be published in 2024. Her TV pilots are on The Red List and have won official selection at multiple film festivals. As the daughter of immigrants from clashing cultures, a teenage cancer survivor, and a former runway model, Alex writes stories of teen rebellion based on real-life experiences with authenticity, dark humor, and heart.
